I did in fact get the same story. Canadian Standards Ass. has approved
them for outside, exposed to the elements use in Canada.
They're still not "listed" (as per the NEC) for such use here. Not yet
anyway. Going back to Frank's initial question as to the proper/legal
way to put exposed neon up on a roof here in the US - I believe a
housing or G-cup is still the only NEC-compliant way.
