Re: Reply to: NEON- Secondary Ground Fault Protection

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your post. I'm expecting a lot of mail on this one. Some of it
may be of the "hate" variety.

After reading Henry's letter in SOT yesterday, I felt it time to say
something. Henry's WAY OUT THERE this time. His imflammation is uncalled
for and he doesn't know what he's talking about.

He hasn't done his homework and almost certainly has not seen a copy of our
UL file. Typically, those files tend to be confidential but if he had any
contacts at UL, they should have advised him of its existence.

>Eric - very well written piece. I'd like to hear comments from Transco.
>Is Henry Brown listening??? Maybe Morgan can show him the piece and see
>if he wants to respond. Maybe we can get a real flame war going now.

What HAB doesn't mention in his letter is that he tricked Signs of the Times
into letting him have an advance preview of some of Allanson's copy. Before
it hit the street! So he had time to prepare his cute little reply for the
next available issue. Was that for the good of the industry as well? Come on.

Anyway, I'm sure he'll reply. I just hope he doesn't drag Morgan into this.
I have a great deal of respect for Morgan both as an individual as well as a
professional in the industry. Please, don't interpret my anger at Henry
Brown as in any way directed at Morgan.

As for the flame war...I don't really like them and have avoided
participation since being on neon-l. Unfortunately, the most recent tactics
practiced by Henry Brown need to be addressed in the most effective fashion.
He has made some very serious claims and accusations. They cannot go
unanswered.

I'd like to pose one question before signing off... if Henry had a question
about the nature of Allanson's fault protection...why didn't he just ask us?

If he had, it wouldn't have been the first inquiry from a competitor. There
are ways to cooperate on technical matters "for the good of the industry".
We do so all the time with other competitors. Where has Transco been?

Thanks,

Eric
