I've got one of those too. Do you really get the electrode to cherry red?
The best I can do on a 45 ma electrode is a dull glow. To be sure there is
a marked outgassing that occurrs, but I'm not convinved if true conversion
is taking place.
As for paying a good price for a seemingly unnecessary piece of equipment, I
consider it a great deal. My plant, currently under construction, will
specialize in oven pumped and annealed tubes--so it is necessary.
