Dear John and Fellow Neon List People,

Thanks for your note.  As you know, I am a new subscriber to the list.  I am 
only a Neon Hobbiest.  I haven't  really had anything to add as of yet.
I am Mark C. Schimdt, I work for General Electric Power Generation as a Sr. 
Engineer.  My back ground is a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn 
State University, and a Ph.D. in Mech. Eng. (Fluids and Heat Transfer) at 
Imperial College in London.  I now live in Niskayuna New York, near 
Schenectady/Albany.   I used to get the Neon News, which I enjoyed but that 
'Fix' is now gone.
My interest in neon is a cross between wanting to have an artistic outlet 
and enjoying the techinal side.  As you may guess, my other big hobby is 
'homebrewing'.  Every batch is a work of art and with close to 100 batches, 
I haven't brewed a bad one yet.  I like the neon subject and want to keep 
learning about it but I don't have a lot/any experience.  If the list 
doesn't mind, I want to just listen in and if a ME, heat transfer question 
comes along that I can help with I will.  If the membership is limited in 
number, and other more 'qualified' people want to join, I would consider 
being removed to make space available.
