Ah, I failed to mention that I only use these for space critical, sound
critical, or portable installations e.g. In Victor/Victoria on B'way now a
neonized piano is wheeled in, danced on, picked up & walked out. For the 5
min per night requirement, a battery powered job from Science Unlimited (did
I get the name right?) saved a lot of hassle.
I give a 3 yr warranty as well (sometimes 5) and would not trust it to any
solid state. The ground fault on an Allanson used to make me feel
comfortable selling neon from the home until I found (the hard way) that the
jolt is worse than from a conventional.

Have had the same unfortunate experience with Actown, though a friend on
Long Island swears by them. (I swear at them). Haven't used Transco in a
while but I do remember them as great workhorses.
