grounding schemes revisited
Eddie - thanks for the research into NEC grounding, however, I think some
confusion about my remarks may exist. Your reference to NEC 530-70 through -72
seem to refer to special case receptacles where both power legs are hot, 60
volts above ground (it's not clear to me why someone would want to do this, but
apparently they do...). I was in fact refering to a specially made isolated
ground receptacle wired with one leg hot (120 vac above ground) and one neutral
(at ground potential) with the ground terminal GROUNDED PER NEC 250-74 Exception
#4. I hope this addresses your concerns. Note: have I missed something? My
copy of the code is old (1987) - I need to get a current copy.
